Dzobak Volodymyr Dzobak Volodymyr

that have happened in Ukraine today

Russia has launched new military exercises with live shooting

Large-scale military exercises of Russian air-borne troops with three thousand servicemen participating started on Tuesday in Pskov region, Russia, Major Irina Kruglova, a Russian Defence Ministry representative of the press service and information department, announced on Monday, as reported by RIA Novosti.  "Two-stage divisional command and staff drills are due to be taking place from 11 to 16 August in Pskov region", Kruglova said.  As we know,  large-scale military exercises of Russian air and antiaircraft defence forces finished on August 8.  The drills conducted on August 4 triggered off concerns at the US State Department.

14 objects have been "mined within three days in Kyiv

The Metropolitan Police received 14 false messages about "mining" of different objects during last three days, the press-service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement on Thursday.

Criminal charges have been filed regarding every single "mining" case. One of the "miners" has already been identified.

In total, about 80 messages on "mining" have been received so far since the beginning of 2014.

Four soldiers of "Donbass" battalion have been killed near Ilovaysk

Four soldiers of the "Donbas" voluntary battalion were killed during hostilities near Illovaysk in Donetsk region on Sunday, the press-service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said on Thursday.

Mr Lavrentiev, one of the battalion's servicemen blamed for the losses the Ministry of Defence, which, according to him, had left them almost with no support and heavy weapons.

Tymchuk: it is currently not possible to cut off supplies of gunmen and matériel from Russia

It does not seem to be possible at the moment to cut off supplies of weapons and gunmen to Ukraine from the territory of Russia without significant losses, the head of the group "Information resistance" Dmytro Tymchuk wrote on his Facebook page.

To carry out such an operation without incurring large-scale losses among Ukrainian law enforcement units is impossible at the moment, he believes.

"Arrival of new gunmen from Russia in Donbas has recently been recorded and insurgents have been carrying out mine clearing in several areas on the border with Russia", Tymchuk added.

"This may indicate that terrorists either are preparing ways to flee to the territory of the Russian Federation, or want to ensure that they have some spare routes at their disposal for transferring  mercenaries and weapons to Donbas", the expert said.

National Security Council: 568 service members have been killed since the ATO began earlier this year

568 Ukrainian servicemen have died, and more than 2 thousand have been wounded since the beginning of the anti-terrorist operation in the East of Ukraine, Spokesman for Ukrainian National Security and Defence Council information centre (NSDC) Andriy Lysenko reported at a briefing.

According to him, 6 Ukrainian servicemen were killed, and 24 others wounded in the past 24 hours.

He said that the figure also included losses among volunteer detachments, for they belong to stuffers of the law enforcement department.

The Ministry of Social Policy counted all the refugees from the East of Ukraine and the Crimea

There are 83000 refugees from the ATO area and the Crimea living in Ukraine, Interfax-Ukraine reports with a reference to Minister of Social Policy Lyudmila Denisova.

The Minister explained that 15000 of that figure are refugees from the Crimea, and the rest of them from Luhansk and Donetsk.

In addition, Denisova reports that Donetsk and Lugansk are completely disconnected from Treasury services; therefore, the Ministry of Social Policy has been unable to provide pension and social payments.
