Reuters: The Red Cross recognized the conflict in the east of Ukraine as war
The Red Cross recognized that Ukraine is in a state of war. As Western diplomats state, it opens the road for possible prosecution for war crimes, including the downed Boing 777.
The report of the Red Cross was confidential, Reuters informs.
"It is obvious that this is an international conflict, and that is why it is likely to be a military crime", - said a diplomat of one of Western states in Geneva.
The International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) is the keeper of Geneva Conventions that define rules of war.
The recognition of "war" - either international or civil one - changes the situation at legal level as there will be two belligerents in it responsible for war crimes.

However, this man was captured with weapons and documents, which testify to the effect of a purchase of expensive medicines for separatists.
It will be recalled, that Ukrainian service members captured 35 Russian mercenaries in the past 24 hours of the ATO, among whom there were a lot of "Kadyrov's people".
