Dzobak Volodymyr Dzobak Volodymyr

Tymchuk: Militants broke truce agreements at least five times overnight

The militants in Donbas region continue to break "the truce"; positions of Ukrainian military were shelled at least five times in the past 24 hours, the head of the group "Information Resistance" Dmytro Tymchuk posted on his Facebook wall on Tuesday morning.

Tymchuk: Russia concentrates its forces near Novoazovsk and Kherson region

"According to operational data of the "Information Resistance" group, Russian troops continue to deploy forces near Novoazovsk," Dmytro Tymchuk posted on his Facebook wall.

"At least 180 units of military equipment have been brought over there from the territory of Russia (tanks, armoured personnel carriers, as well as a few Grad volley fire systems), he reported.

In addition, Russian troops are massed on the border in the north of the Crimea.

Brzezinski: Ukraine needs to be given weapons

President Barack Obama's adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski calls for providing Ukraine with arms, Deutsche Welle reports.

"We have to support Ukraine by giving arms not for attacking Russia, but for self-defence", Brzezinski said.

In his opinion, costs of Russia's military invasion would increase if Ukraine's defensive was more effective, in which case Kremlin's leader Volodymyr Putin will have to reassess his strategy, Zbigniew Brzezinski believes.

The Russian president's standpoint is outdated, he states.

"He will not succeed. But if he continues to try to re-create a new Soviet Union by way of feat, than it will cause a lot of trouble in Europe",  the former Head of the US National Security Council said.

Senior officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are interrogated in connection with the Ilovajsk tragedy, which took lives of at least 200 soldiers

Military prosecutors questioned senior officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Dnepropetrovsk in connection with an investigation into the Illovaysk tragedy in Donetsk region, Prosecutor General Vitaliy Yarema said in Kyiv on Wednesday, as reported by "Interfax-Ukraine".

Russian authorities have refused to talk with Amnesty International about Donbas

The Russian government refused to meet with representatives of "Amnesty International" to discuss the situation in the east of Ukraine, Secretary General of the international human rights organization Salil Shetty said according to the radio station "Echo of Moscow".

According to him, Amnesty International has some evidence to prove that Russia has been involved in the armed confrontation in Ukraine; however, the Moscow officials ignored a proposal to hold consultations without providing reasons for doing so.

These data were given by Amnesty International representatives to the leadership of Ukraine in a meeting with the Prime Minister and the Prosecutor General in Kyiv.

He announced this data at a meeting with the Cabinet on Wednesday referring to the Ukrainian intelligence office.
