Coalition has come to an agreement: Becoming a NATO member is the main goal of Ukraine"

The Euro-Atlantic aspirations of Ukraine have been set out in the coalition agreement of five parliamentary political parties, parliamentary candidate from the Samopomich Union Yehor Sobolev has said.

"Joining NATO is a goal for Ukraine. It is the last decision by the political forces of the new parliamentary majority, on which we have just agreed in parliament," he wrote on his page on Facebook.

As reported, according to the text that was previously published on the website of the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko, the coalition agreement foresees the development and adoption of the new wording of the national security strategy and military doctrine, taking into account changes in the military and political situation in Ukraine.

In addition, it is proposed to amend the laws of Ukraine on the foundations of domestic and foreign policy and on the foundations of national security, including "by envisaging the annulment of Ukraine's non-aligned status, the resumption of a political course toward integration into the Euro-Atlantic security space and membership of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, and also the restoration of Ukraine's national sovereignty over the territory of Crimea as one of the strategic goals."
