The biggest political representative body of the elderly in Europe, European Senior Citizens Union shares again the success of the operational activities of retirees unions all over the world. The ESCU information bulletin No. 68 (October 15 2012) expressed admiration of good news coming from Ukraine. It goes about renewal of the operational activities of UARP and the return of lost property and important documents of the organization after the raider occupation of the office.

Finally good news was received from the Ukrainian Association of Retired Persons (UARP). According to statement by the Chairman of the Council of UARP Volodymyr Dzyobak, the operational activities of the organization were renewed after the raider occupation of the office in January 2012. Thanks to support of great number of people Ukraine and abroad, UARP could get lost important documents, office equipment and personal belongings of the employees. Ukrainian version of the website is updated; the new issue of the journal 50+ is coming soon.
The Association provides its members with the opportunity to participate in cultural events of the organization, provides also the insurance services like health insurance and accident insurance. UARP takes an active part in the program of affordable housing for the less protected classes of the population in Ukraine.
The program Ethno-Eco-50 involves primarily women from rural areas to work, and therefore folk crafts are revived.
On the eve of the International Day of Older People, held usually on October the 1st, UARP appealed to Christian churches with a proposal to hold appropriate events to promote Christian values and especially dialogue between generations.
