The Council of the Ukrainian Association of Retired Persons resolutely condemns such actions of the state authority and calls for ceasing punitive actions, which, on the one hand, can lead to an escalation of tension in the society, on the other hand, to damaging our country's prestige, to Ukraine's international isolation. If the state authority being employed by people and funded from people's resources is absolutely unable to cope with the duties or ranks itself above the sovereign, then society's foreground job is to bring such "public servant", who puts personal interests above the interests of the Ukrainian people, down a peg or two. And after the state authority had raised its hand against defenceless demonstrators, shed free Ukrainians' blood, that right turned into a civic duty of every honest citizen, no matter what language he speaks, how he prays, and what ideology he is more bound to.
The Council of the Ukrainian Association of Retired Persons.
