Yoel Yuht, an Estonian street dance teacher, teaches 70-year old grandmothers how to dance hip hop.

Anatoly Lutsenko, a resident of Kirovograd is a normal pensioner. His pension is a little more than 1000 UAH. This money is enough neither for new clothes, nor for a simple renovation. He can only afford clothing from a second-hand shop and chicken from a wholesale store, which is situated outside the town.

The first volunteers in this quarter have been recruited in the regional clinical hospital for disabled war veterans. They are pensioners who will receive a ten-day-training course, and gain not only knowledge and practical skills how to provide medical aid, but also, in case of need, they will undergo diagnostics and receive medical treatment.

Instead of rejoicing for congratulations on the Day of Older Persons, which is celebrated in Ukraine at the beginning of October, retired teachers from Pylypez are in despair. They are being forced to reimburse the benefits for heating costs in retrospect which they received from the state a while ago. The former teachers are confident that the board of education of Mizhgirya Regional State Administration are trying in such a way to fill up the district budget, which has already been emptied. Another surprise for the retired teachers from Pylypez is their layoff due to the reorganisation of the local school. The teachers say that they were fired illegally. 

People over 60 years old take up one fifth of the Ukrainian population and only 3 percent of them try to be active. On the International Day of Older Persons, active athletes showed their physical form.
