Scientists discovered long time ago, that food and mood are closely bound. They assure that a correct and diverse diet provides the basis for good mental and psychological health. Reduced fat and calories intake is a kind of diet that leads to a shortage of certain substances, which can influence the mood and general well-being.
Luke Passamonti, a scientist from the University of Catanzaro in Italy, is convinced that pledge of happiness, or, at least, good mood, lies in tryptophan, one of amino acids that is part of the proteins of all known living organisms.
What products is it recommended to eat, to stay in a good mood? Tryptophan is contained in those products, which, as a rule, are not included in the list of dietetic foodstuff. But the scientist says that every person should take at least 350 grams of "happy" products every day. Caviar, milk, cheese, poultry, pork and beef, nuts, olive oil, as well as chocolate are among the products, which can help control anger, negative emotions and reduce aggressiveness. The researcher says that "diet of happiness" can help overcome psychological problems such as depression and suicidal tendency.
Earlier research team from the Scranton University of Pennsylvania already "rehabilitated" potatoes in their studies. American scientists strongly recommend to eat this vegetable almost every day. Experts have found out that active trace elements and vitamins found in potatoes help to reduce blood pressure and strengthen the immune system of the human body.
The next stage of scientists' research will probably be an endeavour to find a compromise between slim figure and high spirits.
